Hi Guy’s 🙂
I am so sad to see that my once beautiful Frithia pulchra succulent plant has died 🙁
This beautiful plant I have grown for almost 20 years so I am very sad to see it gone and am confused as to why it has died almost overnight.
I noticed a few days ago it was turning very brown and crispy and I got it out of its pot and when I did I could see that this plant was almost dead and the roots had completely rotted away as had almost all of the green plant tissue of this plant. I pulled away a few pieces hoping I could save them to re propagate but sadly they went brown and crispy within hours, this plant was sadly unsavable, whatever it had died of worked its evil within hours 🙁
Here is a photo of this plant when it was in beautiful flower during the summer last year.
BUT guys its not all bad news as I was pulling away the dead pieces from this Frithia, I discovered a seed pod YIPPEEEEE, after all of my years of growing this beauty and watching it flower it had never produced any seeds before until now, and WOW talk about PERFECT timing, this means that I will be able to sow the seeds from this plant and the plant will continue to live on through the many seedlings these seeds will produce 🙂
Although there could be many reasons why this plant has died, sometimes we have to accept that just like people our plants will not live forever, and because I have grown this beauty for many years and I have always been careful with watering and keeping a check on any bugs it is a mystery what this plant could have died from and it is possible that this plant may have just come to the end of its life and produced a seed pod to continue its energy for the future. 🙂
Watch out for a future video in the coming weeks when I sow the seeds and I will keep you all updated when the seeds germinate and how they grow over the coming weeks and I will be documenting the progress on my You Tube channel Desert Plants of Avalon
Here is a video that I have made for my You Tube channel Desert Plants of Avalon on my Frithia pulchra dieing and you can watch this video below :
If you want to see what my Frithia pulchra used to look like here is a video I have made for my You tube channel Desert Plants of Avalon of this beauty in full bloom, I am sure that you will all agree it is very sad to see that this beauty has died 🙁
Wishing you all a BRILLIANT day or evening ahead and sending love and Happy Gardening from Ireland 🙂
